Gains from yesterday erased as market tumbles 0.9%

Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 share index slipped 0.9% today to reach 6,777.80 points off the back of a weak performance from the NASDAQ.

Contrary to previous days, the miners fell with BHP and Rio Tinto (RIO) both down around 3%. Newcrest Mining (NCM) was down 0.55%.

Healthcare giant Blackmores (BKL) bucked the trend adding a massive 6.25%  as its half-yearly is looked upon favourably by investors.

  • Nine Entertainment +9.7%
  • IDP Education +7.2%
  • Platinum Asset Management +6.4%
  • Blackmores +6.3%
  • Worley +4.5%

The biggest declines were:

  • Appen -12.1%
  • Nanosonics -8.1%
  • Seek -7.8%
  • NRW Holdings -6.1%
  • Downer EDI -6%
