Market finishes 1.3% higher closing above 6600 points
Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 share index closed 1.3% higher today to reach 6644.10 points as another 9-month high is reached.
The banks wasted no time continuing their rally after a flat session yesterday with ANZ up 3.10% and Westpac (WBC) up 2.61%.
BHP and Woodside Petroleum (WPL) also finished well in the green, up 3.37% and 2.96% respectively.

- URW +7.3%
- Whitehaven Coal +6.9%
- Janus Henderson Group +5.8%
- Challenger +5.5%
The biggest declines were:
- Silver Lake -9.4%
- Saracen -9%
- Northern Star -8.9%
- Evolution Mining -8.4%
- Perseus Mining -7.6%
