ASX falls just shy of 6500 after glitch

Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 share index fell just short of 6500 today, adding 0.2% after the issue with a glitch was resolved from yesterdays day of trading.

The banks continue to rally hard, quickly heading back towards pre-covid levels as ANZ was up 2.79% while Westpac (WBC) added 2.26%.

Miners, BHP and Rio Tinto (RIO) also enjoyed a green day up 1.42% and 1% respectively.

The biggest gainers on Tuesday were:

  • URW +16.3%
  • Whitehaven Coal +8.1%
  • Viva Energy +6.7%
  • Beach Energy +6.4%
  • Treasury Wines +5.5%

The biggest declines were:

  • Charter Hall -6%
  • NEXTDC -5.9%
  • Afterpay -5.8%
  • Saracen -5.6%
  • Ramelius Resources -5.6%
