Day to forget as ASX plummets a considerable 2.4%
Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 plummeted today, down 2.4% by end of days trading, as tech stocks drag down the index.
It was a sea of red among Australia’s top 200 stocks with very few able to buck the trend. Lynas (up 5.7%) and AMP (up 7.5%) were among the few to do this.
All four major banks were down over 2% while Afterpay (APT) was hit hard, shedding a whopping 11.04% to halt its recent run.
Gainers and Losers
The biggest gainers on Friday were:
- AMP +7.5%
- Silver Lake Resources +7%
- Lynas +5.7%
- Perseus +4.5%
- Clinuvel +3.6%
The biggest declines were:
- Orica -18.1%
- Service Stream -14.2%
- Afterpay -11%
- Pointsbet -10.6%
- Kogan -10.4%
