Steady day to cap off strongest week since April

The Australian market today managed to complete its streak of no daily losses for the week as the market remains steady at 6102.20. This was the best week since April where the 5.4 percent gain for the week meant roughly $95 billion was added to the stock market.

There was no clear standout from any particular sector for the day however Afterpay (APT) has continued to add to its gains, up 2.83% for the day. On the flip side, CSL experienced a bit of a sell-off following its price action from yesterday, ending down 1.21%.

Gold stocks performed quite strongly with Newcrest Mining (NCM) reaching $31.26, up 3.17%.

Gainers and Losers

The biggest gainers on Friday were:

  • CIMIC Group +9.2% to $22.17
  • ARB Corp +6.3% to $32.21
  • Janus Henderson +5.9% to $37.27
  • Qube Holdings +5% to $2.75
  • Austal +4.2% to $3.44

The biggest declines were:

  • Zip Co -4.7% to $7.56
  • Harvey Norman -3.5% to $4.66 (ex-dividend)
  • Nanosonics -2.8% to $5.62
  • United Malt Group -2.8% to $4.23
  • Bravura Solutions -2% to $3.38
